Karl Woodard is a man on a mission. Following the collapse of a number of wormholes (miniatures black holes used to traverse vast distances very quickly), hundreds of planets are suddenly isolated and unable to fend for themselves. Woodard and his crew of interstellar misfits are charged with travelling to those distant planets and checking up on their inhabitants, but they get more than they bargained for when the reach the Three Kings System....
