The Asian Journal of Thomas Merton

Thomas Merton`s 1968 journal records the last three months of his life, spent on an eye- and heart-opening tour of the East: Thailand, India, and Sri Lanka. With his characteristic intelligence and compassion, Merton describes his physical journey in words and photographs, and expounds on Christianity, the monastic life, and his own renewed faith in God. The journal ends on December 8, 1968, two days before Merton`s accidental death in Bangkok. Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005. For personal use only. All rights reserved.
